TogetherVoice (VoiceCast)

Overview

TogetherVoice also known as VoiceCast is a next-generation social media platform built entirely around voice. Designed to bring back authenticity and human connection, the platform allows users to record voice posts, reply with voice, and join meaningful conversations without relying on visuals or text. The beta version includes core features such as anonymous or public posting, a dynamic audio feed, hashtag-based discovery, and a foundational admin dashboard for content moderation and user management.

Apptage collaborated closely with the founder to shape the vision of this completely voice-first platform. From ideation to execution, we worked through multiple iterations of the concept, aligning strategy, user experience, and technical delivery to build a scalable foundation for future growth.

Background

Traditional social media platforms are dominated by text, images, and videos leaving little room for the raw, human emotional expression that voice naturally carries. TogetherVoice was born from the need to build a space where interaction feels real, personal, and emotionally resonant. The client approached us with a bold idea: a purely voice-driven social network where conversations would be more honest, immersive, and meaningful. But turning that vision into a structured, buildable product required deep collaboration, clarity, and careful shaping of scope.

Throughout the project, we worked hand-in-hand with the client, refining features, simplifying flows, and defining a development roadmap that preserved the originality of the idea while ensuring feasibility.

Project Objectives

The goal of developing TogetherVoice was to:

• Build a voice-first social platform where users engage entirely through audio posts and replies.
• Enable anonymous & public posting to foster openness while preserving user safety.
• Develop a structured content discovery system based on tags and voice-driven conversations.
• Create an admin dashboard for moderation, user management, and content control.
• Lay a scalable foundation that supports future features such as communities, AI moderation, and advanced recommendation engines.

Challenges

The TogetherVoice project introduced a series of unique challenges rarely seen in traditional social app development:

• Client-Side Challenges
  • Turning a visionary idea into a structured product The client had a powerful vision but needed help translating it into features, phases, and technical specifications.
  • Creating a platform with no visual-first mechanics Reimagining social media while abandoning standard UI patterns like images, videos, and text feeds.
• Provider-Side Challenges
  • Designing an intuitive experience around audio interactions Ensuring users instinctively understand how to record, listen, reply, and explore voice threads.
  • Moderation & safety concerns Voice content introduces new layers of complexity regarding anonymity, harmful content, and user behavior.
  • Balancing evolving ideas with fixed timelines and budget As the client’s vision grew (AI features, communities, advanced algorithms), scope management was critical to maintaining project momentum.

Despite the challenges, continuous communication, transparency, and phased planning kept the project aligned and moving forward.
